About Sheba Scents

What makes Sheba Scents candles different from other candles?

Most candles on the market are designed purely for fragrance. Sheba Scents candles are created with a different philosophy: supporting wellness, emotional balance, and intentional living.

Our candles feature:

• Coconut soy wax blend for a longer, cleaner burn
• Crackling wood wicks for a calming sensory experience
• Aromatherapy-inspired scent formulas that are original
• Small batch handcrafted production
• Intentional scent blends designed for emotional and spiritual wellbeing

Each candle is designed to support the body, mind, and spirit, creating an experience that goes beyond traditional home fragrance.

Why did you start Sheba Scents?

Sheba Scents was born from a personal wellness journey.

After experiencing anxiety and overwhelm, I (Corrine) began searching for ways to create a calmer home environment. During that journey, I discovered that many store-bought candles contained ingredients that could negatively impact indoor air quality.

Inspired by a love of nature, gardening, and simple living, I began making candles with cleaner ingredients and intentional scent blends.

What started as a personal project quickly evolved into a brand dedicated to helping others create peaceful, toxin-conscious homes and meaningful self-care rituals.

Where are Sheba Scents candles made?

All Sheba Scents candles are hand-poured in small batches in Corrine's home in Texas.

Small-batch production allows us to maintain a high level of quality, craftsmanship, and attention to detail in every candle we create.

Clean Candle Ingredients

Are Sheba Scents candles non-toxic?

Our candles are formulated with cleaner ingredients designed for a healthier home fragrance experience.

We use:

• Coconut soy wax blend
• Lead-free crackling wood wicks
• Carefully selected fragrance oils and essential oils
• Phthalate-free fragrance formulations whenever possible

Our goal is to provide a candle experience that is cleaner, more intentional, and more supportive of wellness than conventional candles.

Why do you use coconut soy wax?

Coconut soy wax is considered one of the cleanest and most luxurious candle wax blends available.

Benefits include:

• cleaner burning than paraffin wax
• excellent scent throw
• renewable plant-based materials
• smooth and even burn

This wax blend helps create a premium candle experience while supporting cleaner indoor air quality.

Are paraffin candles bad?

Paraffin wax is a petroleum byproduct commonly used in mass-produced candles.

While paraffin candles are widely available, many consumers choose alternatives like soy wax or coconut wax blends because they are derived from renewable plant sources.

Sheba Scents uses coconut soy wax instead of paraffin to support a cleaner and more intentional candle experience.

Why do we use wood wicks?

Wood wicks provide a unique sensory experience that many people find calming and relaxing.

Benefits of wood wicks include:

• soft crackling sound similar to a fireplace
• a more even melt pool
• clean burning and sustainable wick materials
• enhanced ambiance

The gentle crackling sound adds a multi-sensory relaxation experience that many customers love and do support mindfulness practices.

Aromatherapy & Wellness

Do candles really provide aromatherapy benefits?

Yes. Scent directly affects the limbic system, the part of the brain responsible for emotions, memory, and stress response.

Certain scent families are commonly associated with emotional and wellness benefits:

Lavender – relaxation and sleep
Citrus – energy and mood uplift
Sandalwood – grounding and calm
Frankincense – meditation and reflection

Sheba Scents original aromatherapy blends are designed to support relaxation, emotional balance, and intentional self-care rituals.

Can candles help reduce stress or anxiety?

Candles themselves are not medical treatments, but scent and ritual can support relaxation and stress reduction.

Lighting a candle creates an opportunity to:

• slow down and breathe
• step away from screens and life's stressors
• create a calm environment
• establish evening or meditation rituals

Many people incorporate candles into routines that support nervous system relaxation and emotional reset.

What is the “Permission to Pause” philosophy?

Sheba Scents believes that modern life moves too fast.

Our philosophy of Permission to Pause encourages people to create intentional moments and spaces that provide a little chance for calm and reflection throughout the day.

A simple ritual like lighting a candle can become a reminder to:

• breathe deeply
• slow down
• reconnect with yourself
• create space for relaxation

Spiritual & Intention Candles

What are intention candles?

Intention candles are designed to support mindfulness, reflection, and personal rituals.

Each candle is associated with a theme such as:

• grounding
• clarity
• gratitude
• emotional healing
• new beginnings

The scent blend, color, and purpose of the candle are chosen to support the emotional intention of the ritual.

What are moon candles?

Moon candles are inspired by the natural cycles of the moon.

Examples include:

New Moon Ritual candle for reflection and new beginnings
Full Moon Ritual candle for gratitude and release
Mercury Retrograde candle to support times of reflection and recalibration

Many people enjoy lighting these candles during journaling, meditation, or personal reflection rituals.

What are chakra candles?

Chakra candles are inspired by the traditional energy centers of the body used in many meditation and wellness practices.

Each chakra represents a different emotional and energetic theme.

Examples include:

  • Root Chakra aromatherapy for grounding and stability
  • Sacral Chakra aromatherapy for creativity and emotional balance
  • Solar Plexus Chakra aromatherapy for confidence and personal empowerment
  • Heart Chakra aromatherapy for love and compassion
  • Throat Chakra aromatherapy for communication and authentic expression
  • Third Eye Chakra aromatherapy for intuition and inner clarity
  • Crown Chakra aromatherapy for spiritual awareness

Our chakra candles and essential oils are designed to support mindful rituals and emotional balance.

Why are many spiritual candles unscented?

Many mass-produced spiritual candles, including chakra candles, are often unscented because they are manufactured at scale and designed primarily for visual symbolism rather than aromatherapy benefits.

While these candles may represent spiritual themes through colors or labels, they typically do not incorporate intentional scent blends designed to support emotional or wellness rituals.

At Sheba Scents, we believe scent plays an important role in mindfulness and self-care. Our candles are thoughtfully designed with aromatherapy-inspired scent profiles that support relaxation, grounding, and emotional balance.

Why do some spiritual candles contain crystals or dried flowers?

Some spiritual candles include decorative additions such as:

• crystals
• herbs
• dried flowers
• glitter or decorative materials

While these elements can be visually appealing, they can also create burn safety concerns because they may interfere with the candle’s flame or melt pool.

Foreign objects placed in a candle may:

• disrupt the flame
• create uneven burning
• increase soot production
• pose potential fire hazards and air quality issues

For safety and performance reasons, Sheba Scents does not place objects inside candles that could interfere with the burn.

Why doesn’t Sheba Scents add crystals or dried botanicals to candles?

Our philosophy is that a candle should be designed first and foremost for safe, clean, and consistent burning.

Objects placed inside candles can interfere with:

• wick performance
• melt pool formation
• flame stability

Instead of adding decorative materials that could affect safety, we focus on what matters most for the candle experience:

• clean wax
• high-quality fragrance formulation
• safe wick design
• intentional aromatherapy benefits

This approach helps ensure that our candles deliver a luxurious and reliable burn experience.

Do chakra candles need to be colored?

Not necessarily.

Many mass-produced chakra candles use strong synthetic dyes to achieve bright colors associated with each chakra.

While color symbolism can be meaningful, our philosophy focuses more on the intentional scent blend and ritual experience rather than heavy dye use. That is why the color of the glass jars we use is chakra specific and very intentional, but we do not use synthetic dyes in our wax to color the candle itself.

We prioritize:

• clean-burning wax
• intentional aromatherapy
• emotional and spiritual intention

The purpose of the candle is to create a calming, grounding ritual experience, rather than relying solely on visual symbolism.

What makes Sheba Scents chakra candles different?

Many spiritual candles on the market are:

• mass produced in large factors outside of the USA
• unscented or lightly scented
• focused primarily on color symbolism
• decorated with objects that may interfere with burning

Sheba Scents chakra candles are intentionally designed to provide a complete sensory wellness experience.

Our candles focus on:

• aromatherapy-inspired scent blends that are original and intentionally formulated
• clean coconut soy wax
• wood wick ambiance
• small batch craftsmanship
• intentional emotional and spiritual themes

This approach creates a candle that supports mindfulness, emotional wellness, and meaningful rituals in a safe and luxurious way.

Can candles really support spiritual or mindfulness rituals?

Candles have been used for centuries in meditation, reflection, and spiritual practices.

Lighting a candle can serve as a symbolic moment of intention, helping people slow down and create space for mindfulness.

Many people use candles during:

• meditation
• journaling
• prayer
• gratitude rituals
• intention setting

At Sheba Scents, our candles are designed to support these moments of reflection, grounding, and emotional reset.

Candle Performance & Care

How long should I burn my candle the first time?

For the best performance, burn your candle long enough for the melted wax to reach the edges of the jar.

This usually takes 2–3 hours depending on the candle size.

Allowing the wax to melt across the entire surface helps prevent tunneling.

What is candle tunneling?

Tunneling occurs when a candle burns down the center while leaving wax along the edges.

This usually happens when the candle is blown out too early during the first burn.

Allowing a full melt pool during the first burn helps ensure an even burn throughout the life of the candle.

Why is my candle scent stronger after it burns for a while?

As the wax melts and forms a full melt pool, fragrance oils begin to evaporate more effectively.

Most candles reach their full scent throw after 30–60 minutes.

How often should I trim the wick?

For best performance and safety, trim the wick to about 1/8–1/4 inch before each burn.

Trimming the wick helps:

• reduce soot
• control flame size
• improve candle longevity

How long do Sheba Scents candles last?

Burn time depends on candle size.

Typical burn times include:

8 oz candle – approximately 40 to 50 hours
9 oz candle – approximately 50 to 60 hours

Actual burn time may vary depending on room conditions and burn habits.

What candle scent should I choose for relaxation?

Relaxation scents often include calming fragrance notes such as:

• lavender

• chamomile

These scent families are often associated with evening rituals and relaxation routines.

What candle scent is best for sleep?

Scents commonly used for sleep support include:

• lavender
• cedarwood
• sandalwood
• chamomile

Many people enjoy lighting a calming candle 30–60 minutes before bedtime to create a relaxing sleep environment.

What candle scent is best for stress relief?
